Pulled Pork Sammie?

Friends,

The rain has finally come! While the earth is happy and appreciative, all I want to do is eat and sleep until the return of Spring. What better way to cope with such an upsetting situation? Consume copious amounts of slow-cooked meat until you feel physically ill.

Courtney, my housemate came home the other day beaming. She had stumbled upon "Smoky J's", an unassuming little hole-in-the wall BBQ restaurant down the street from us. http://smokeyjbbq.com/. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich on a bun, with beans. They were out of beans, so the owner substituted with spicy chili and freshly made cornbread. No complaints here... The butter-like consistency of the meat and smoky flavor, topped with 3 different kinds of home-made BBQ sauce was enough to make a vegetarian cry. (just kidding.. but really)

We proceeded to stuff our faces, and left satisfied as ever. Overall, a very good Saturday evening, and the point is, if you're in South Berkeley, and feeling carniverous, go to Smoky J's. You shan't regret it.

Hope you're all well.

Cheers!
