Happy New Year!

Here are some photos from the last few days of eating and cooking. "Rudy's Can't Fail Diner" is a favorite of mine in the east bay. There are two locations, one in downtown Oakland on 19th st and Telegraph, and another on Hollis St. in Emeryville right by Pixar. It's not amazing, thought it is tasty, but the reason I go there often is because there are lots of options including plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and they're open all the time. Also, their pie is quite yummy. Speaking of pie, I made a mixed berry cobbler to commemorate the new year. David and I went on a long bikeride to the Mormon Church because I always see it from a distance and wanted to absorb it's grandeur in person. It is absolutely colossal and ornate. It was a great ride with a 1100 ft climb and after lunch I just wanted a treat. I always just want a treat, but it's more fun when you make it yourself, so I decided it was cobbler time.

Here are the berries. I added vanilla, cinnamon and lemon juice.
